Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Ages 8–15)
At TACFIT Lake Saint Louis, our Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) program is more than just self-defense—it's a foundation for confidence, discipline, and lifelong fitness.
Led by experienced, certified 1st Degree Blackbelt, Robert Miller in a supportive and structured environment, this class is designed to teach children ages 8–15 the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through fun, engaging, and age-appropriate drills and techniques.

CLASS SCHEDULE
🥋 Kids BJJ Class FAQ
1. What age can my child start BJJ?
TACFIT LSL currently offers kids classes for age 8-15 years 16+ would join the adult classes. We will be adding classes as we continue to grow. Call or DM to share more about your child. We want everyone to have a great time learning with us.
2. Does my child need any experience?
Not at all! Kids' classes are beginner-friendly and focus on learning through fun, structured activities.
3. What should my child wear to class?
Gi class: A clean BJJ gi (uniform) is required. We do not have kids loaners gis at this time.
Under the Gi: A rash guard or athletic top and shorts/leggings with no zippers or buttons.
4. What should we bring?
Water bottle
Flip-flops/sandals for walking to/from the mat
Mouthguard (optional but recommended for older kids)
5. What happens during a typical class?
Classes are 60 minutes and include:
Fun warm-ups (games, drills)
Technique instruction
Partner drills
Light sparring (supervised, age-appropriate)
Cool-down and mat talk (respect, discipline, etc.)
6. Is it safe?
Yes! Instructors are trained to teach kids in a safe, positive environment. Classes focus on control, not harm, and safety is a top priority.
7. Does my child have to spar?
Sparring (rolling) is introduced gradually and is always supervised. Kids can opt out or participate at their comfort level.
8. Will BJJ make my child aggressive?
Quite the opposite! BJJ teaches self-control, confidence, and respect. Many parents notice improved behavior, focus, and discipline.
9. How often should my child train?
2–3 times per week is a great start. Consistency helps build skills and confidence.
10. Can I stay and watch class?
Yes! We encourage parents to observe (quietly from the sidelines). It’s a great way to see your child’s progress. We also have family plans so you can be more involved in your own growth and your kids!
11. How do I know if it’s the right fit?
TACFIT LSL offers a free trial class. This gives your child a chance to try it out and see if they enjoy it.
